FAQs
Creating a 2B Played Music account is not a self-service option.
An account can only be generated during the product purchase process via the checkout page.
If a new version is available, you can download it via the link in your first order email. You can also get the update effortlessly by logging in and navigating to the “Orders | Downloads” tab.
All update notifications are shared exclusively through our newsletter. To stay informed about updates, subscribing to the newsletter is essential. Additionally, you can always check the “Additional Information” tab on any product page, where the current live version number is consistently displayed.
Important: This function is currently only available if you already have a 2B Played Music account. To register a license that you bought from another reseller, simply log in, go to My Account, and click on Reseller Licenses. Once your license is registered, you’ll be able to manage your license activations directly from your account, giving you complete control over your license usage.
Upon the release of an update, 2B Played Music promptly ensures its availability to resellers. Feel free to approach your reseller and request access to the update. The procedure for this may vary across different resellers. If you wish, you can reach out to your reseller directly to inquire about the process for obtaining the update.
Of course, you have the option to transfer your plugin to another user.
To start the transfer process, please contact us via the contact page. To facilitate the transfer, we require the following information: the order number associated with the product you wish to transfer, the email address, zip code and country of origin of the new user.
It is important to note that a transfer fee will be charged to the original user. The transfer costs are €10.00 per plugin. We are here to guide you through this process and ensure a seamless transition.
Setup and License Management
Following your purchase, an email titled ‘Your Order is Now Complete’ will be sent to you by us. This email encompasses the license number(s) associated with the products you’ve purchased. It’s advisable to safeguard this email for future reference.
In the event that you’ve established a personal account in conjunction with your order, you can also retrieve the license key on the ‘My Account’ page. Simply access your order details through the “Orders | Downloads” tab to locate the license key.
Have you encountered an error message stating that your license is invalid while installing or activating your plugin? Rest assured, this is likely not the case. In many instances, license numbers are copied and pasted with unintended spaces or characters before or after the actual license key, which can cause it to be rejected.
Another common cause is a firewall on your computer blocking the installation or activation process. Before reaching out to support, please follow these steps:
1. Re-download and reinstall the plugin to ensure a clean installation.
2. Manually enter the license key, paying close attention to capital letters and dashes.
3. Check your firewall settings to ensure they are not interfering with the installation or activation process.
By following these steps, you can likely resolve the issue without further assistance. If you still encounter problems, feel free to contact support.
Thanks for activating your license! If your plugin still seems to be in demo mode or continues to produce white noise after entering your license key, it’s most likely because the plugin hasn’t been fully reloaded or activated yet.
What’s happening?
After you enter your license key, the plugin immediately connects to our license server to activate – but only after asking your permission to do so. Once activation is successful, you’ll see a pop-up message confirming this, along with a notice that the plugin needs to be restarted for the activation to fully take effect.
Important: Please wait for this pop-up before doing anything else. If you close the plugin window or reload it before the activation confirmation appears, the license may not be properly applied, and the plugin will remain in demo mode (with white noise).
How to complete activation:
After you’ve seen the activation pop-up, reload the plugin by doing one of the following:
• Remove and re-insert the plugin on your track.
• Or, restart your DAW (e.g. Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, etc.).
• In rare cases, a full system restart may be needed if the plugin is cached in the background.
Most DAWs do not automatically reload the plugin after license activation – this is why manually reloading is essential.
Note: If the activation pop-up does not appear, it may help in rare cases to enter your license key while the DAW is actively playing audio. This ensures the plugin’s DSP engine is running, which is required for the activation system to trigger properly.

Early 2025, we introduced a new license activation system that provides better tracking and management of your plugin activations. This is great news for customers, as you can now manage activations yourself directly from your account.
To deactivate an activation, go to your Orders | Downloads tab, select an order, and scroll to the bottom of the page. There, you’ll find an overview of your plugin activations and the option to deactivate them if supported.
Please note that not all products support online deactivation. Products using the legacy activation route will display an activation table, but with limited information only indicating whether an activation has been detected or not. These legacy activations are managed by our system and cannot be manually adjusted.
If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact support.
Depending on the product or system, it may be possible to deactivate an existing activation in your user account to free up space for a new activation. Existing activations can be found at the bottom of the view order page (Your License Activations). However, if this option is not available because it concerns a legacy activation, we kindly request that you contact us for assistance. Our team will be happy to help you resolve this issue and ensure your license is updated accordingly.
An activation has been detected and stored accordingly. This also means that the product you installed does not yet work with our latest licensing system, but it does work with its predecessor. That’s why it’s called legacy, while the product can still be relevant. Our system will then determine whether the license activation you performed is valid for your device.
You have the authorization to install your purchased plugins on a maximum of five devices that you own.
If you’ve purchased a Perpetual License, an internet connection is only required during installation and the first time you launch the software. After this initial activation, you can use your software fully offline without restrictions. The same applies if your license started as a subscription and was later converted into a Perpetual License – after conversion and activation, no further internet connection is necessary for ongoing use.
When Windows SmartScreen appears, it often labels the app you intend to install as unrecognizable. Consequently, the filter provides only one action button: “Don’t run.” This single option is deliberately presented by Microsoft to deter users from executing potentially untrusted applications.
However, if you are using the installer downloaded directly from our official website, you can proceed securely. Simply locate the ‘More info’ link situated at the conclusion of the cautionary message. By clicking this link, a new window will emerge, revealing an additional option: “Run anyway.” Clicking this option gives you the green light to proceed. The installation process will then commence as usual, ensuring a seamless experience.
To begin, we suggest restarting your computer to check if the plugin functions properly afterward. Should the issue persist, we advise referring to your DAW’s user manual. This resource will guide you on how to rescan the plugins folder to include newly installed plugins.
For Windows compatibility and optimal functionality, our plugins require certain essential support files known as the “Visual C++ Redistributable Package.” In many cases, these files are already present on your computer. If they are not, they simply need to be installed once on each PC that utilizes our plugins.

This indicates that the plugin is no longer under maintenance and is not available for purchase. EOL stands for ‘End of Life,’ which essentially means the plugin has been discontinued.
As a result, there will be no further updates, bug fixes, or feature enhancements for this plugin. While you may still be able to use the plugin, we recommend considering alternative solutions to ensure compatibility, security, and continued support for your system.
