INTRODUCING TONEVEIL

ToneVeil is a flagship spectral resonance suppression plugin designed to tame harshness, ringing frequencies, sharp peaks and unwanted tonal build-up while keeping the natural character of your sound intact. Instead of relying on static EQ cuts, broad compression or simple smoothing, ToneVeil reacts dynamically across the spectrum. It listens to the signal, detects where resonant energy becomes too strong, and applies controlled suppression only where it is needed. Use it to smooth sharp vocals, control aggressive cymbals, reduce piercing guitars, clean up resonant synths, soften boxy mids or polish a full mix that feels too bright, harsh or fatiguing. At the center of ToneVeil is a flexible six-node workflow with Auto, Manual and Live processing, spectral sidechain control, Node Listen, Difference monitoring, Mid/Side options, Natural and Linear Phase modes, Mix, Limit, Wet Trim and AutoGain. ToneVeil is built as a serious problem-solving tool for modern mixing and mastering. It gives you deep control when a source needs correction, but keeps the music breathing when transparency matters.

SPECTRAL CONTROL THAT FOLLOWS THE MUSIC

Harshness and resonance rarely stay in one place. A vocal can become sharp only on certain words, a guitar can ring on specific notes, cymbals can become aggressive only when the drummer hits harder, and a full mix can build up energy differently depending on the arrangement. ToneVeil is designed to follow those moving problem areas instead of cutting the same frequency all the time.

The spectral engine analyzes the signal and applies frequency-dependent suppression in real time. Auto mode helps you quickly find and control problematic areas when you want a fast result, while Manual mode gives you full hands-on shaping when you know exactly what needs attention.

Precision, Attack, Release and Limit let you decide how focused, fast and controlled the response should be. Use smoother settings for transparent polish, or push ToneVeil into more detailed corrective work when a source needs serious cleanup. The goal is not to erase the personality of a sound, but to remove the parts that become distracting, painful or unbalanced so the music can come forward with more clarity.

LIVE MODE, ZERO LATENCY AND MASTERING-GRADE QUALITY

Live mode is one of ToneVeil’s key workflow features. It is built for tracking, producing, recording and fast mix decisions where latency and response matter. You can smooth harsh vocals while recording, control bright instruments while producing, or shape a sound in real time without the plugin feeling disconnected from the source.

ToneVeil also includes a Zero Latency Live workflow for situations where timing is critical. This makes it practical not only as a high-end mixing and mastering processor, but also as a real-time creative tool inside active sessions.

For final mixing and mastering, ToneVeil offers Normal, Fine and Ultra quality modes, plus Natural and Linear Phase processing. Natural Phase gives a musical and responsive feel for everyday mixing, while Linear Phase provides a more phase-stable option for buses and mastering. Ultra mode combined with Linear Phase is built for the highest quality ToneVeil processing, giving you the refinement, smoothness and transparency needed for demanding mix bus and mastering work.

SIX NODES, SHAPES, DYNAMIC ISLAND AND CRITICAL LISTENING TOOLS

ToneVeil is built around six flexible nodes that let you guide the spectral suppression exactly where the mix needs it. Each node can target a different frequency region and control how strongly ToneVeil reacts in that area, making it much more flexible than a single global smoothing control.

Use Bell for focused resonance control, Wide for broader smoothing, Notch for surgical ringing frequencies, Shelf for larger low or high regions, Tilt for tonal direction and Band Reject for controlling a defined frequency band. This lets you choose the right response for the source instead of forcing every problem into the same curve.

Node Listen lets you hear what a selected node is targeting, so you can tune frequency and width by ear instead of guessing from the display. Difference monitoring lets you hear what ToneVeil is removing, helping you stay transparent and avoid taking away too much musical body.

The interface is built around a premium Dynamic Island control area. This floating section keeps important node controls close to the graph and can be freely moved and placed around the interface, so you can position it wherever it feels best for your workflow. Together with the analyzer, node display and reduction line, it keeps the process clear, fast and connected to what you hear.

SIDECHAIN ADD/ONLY, MID/SIDE AND CONTROLLED RESULTS

ToneVeil includes an advanced external sidechain system designed for more than simple ducking. In Sidechain Add mode, the external sidechain influences the suppression on top of the normal signal behavior, helping one sound create space inside another without broad volume automation or heavy compression.

In Sidechain Only mode, the external sidechain becomes the main driver of the suppression behavior. This opens up more intentional spectral interaction for masking control, mix separation and creative space-making. Sidechain Strength lets you control how much influence the external signal has, from subtle support to stronger interaction.

With Stereo and Mid/Side control, you can focus suppression where the problem actually lives. Control a harsh vocal resonance in the center without pulling down the width, or smooth bright stereo information in the sides without dulling the middle.

Mix lets you blend the processed signal with the original, Limit sets the maximum amount of reduction, Wet Trim controls the processed level before final output, Output handles the final gain stage, and AutoGain helps maintain a more consistent perceived level while you adjust the suppression. These controls make ToneVeil easier to use in real sessions, where correction, tone and level all need to stay under control.

LEARN MODE, PRESETS AND FLAGSHIP PROBLEM SOLVING

ToneVeil includes Learn mode to help you get started quickly. It can analyze the incoming signal and guide the node setup toward a useful starting point, after which you can refine everything manually. Start with a preset, use Auto for speed, switch to Live for real-time control, use Learn mode for direction, or build a complete Manual setup from the ground up.

On vocals, ToneVeil can smooth sharp syllables, nasal resonances, sibilant build-up and harsh upper mids while keeping the voice present and emotional. On drums and cymbals, it can control aggressive overheads, harsh hi-hats and metallic ringing without removing the energy of the performance.

On guitars, synths, keys, acoustic instruments, piano, strings and dialogue, ToneVeil can reduce painful peaks and uneven resonances while preserving natural tone. On buses and full mixes, it becomes a premium polishing tool: subtle enough for transparent refinement, powerful enough for difficult recordings and dense arrangements.

Whether you are fixing one painful frequency, smoothing a vocal chain, creating space with sidechain-driven suppression or adding final refinement to a master, ToneVeil helps you control resonance without losing the soul of the sound.

“While competent Pultec emulations are dime-a-dozen, 2B Played opted to spawn something different out of the old tube EQ that never fails to this day. And at a very fair price, too. This is something to be commended!.”
